Lamaze Childbirth Classes in the Seattle Area

I am a Seattle based Lamaze Certified Childbirth Educator who believes that birth is a normal physiological process and that women are strong and powerful. I encourage women to learn about their options and be an active participant in the decisions on care for themselves and their baby. I also strongly believe that women birth best in a place that they feel safe, and that women should get to decide what that looks like.
New Moon Birth classes are interactive and fun. My Seattle childbirth classes offer lots of hands on practice, where you can find a community of families who want to learn about birth and babies from the perspective that birth is normal.
I offer series classes in Seattle for first time parents that include childbirth education, breastfeeding, and newborn care, as well as weekend intensives for those who need a more condensed version of the same material.
My classes are based on the Six Lamaze Healthy Birth Practices
-
Let Labor Begin On Its Own.
-
Walk, Move Around, and Change Positions Throughout Labor.
-
Bring a Loved One, Friend, or Doula for Continuous Support.
-
Avoid Interventions That Are Not Medically Necessary.

Additionally, I offer a one day VBAC (vaginal birth after cesarean) class for those planning a VBAC. VBAC class description and upcoming class dates can be found here.
One of my favorite childbirth classes to teach is a four hour “Labor YOUR Way: Labor Techniques That Work”, where parents get to do a realistic labor simulation in class, offering participants a chance to try many different methods of coping with labor, focused on natural childbirth. Upcoming Labor YOUR Way: Labor Techniques That Work classes here!
